Sultan Of Perak Graces Hospital Fatimah’s Golden Jubilee Launch

On December 7, 2024, HRH Sultan of Perak Sultan Nazrin Shah graced the official launch of Hospital Fatimah’s Golden Jubilee Celebrations. Accompanying HRH was the Raja Permaisuri of Perak Tuanku Zara Salim. HRH Sultan of Perak also signed a commemorative plaque before touring an exhibition held at the hospital.  
Also present was the Menteri Besar of Perak, Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad, Bishop of Penang Cardinal Dato’ Seri Sebastian Francis, Brothers of Mercy Vicar General Bro. Peter Berg, (deputizing for Bro.  Benedikt Molitor, Superior General, Barmherzige Bruder von Maria-Hilf), Bro. Antonius Joos, Bro. Alfons Maria Michels, Bro. Ambrose Heng the Local Superior of Malaysia & Singapore, Bro. Patrick Liew, Bro. Thomas Chia, Hospital Fatimah’s Board of Directors Chairman Rev. Fr. Dato’ Michael Cheah, Franciscan Missionaries of the Divine Motherhood Sr. Ter Lei Chan, Hospital Fatimah’s Medical Director, Dr. Liaw Kok Toon, Rev. Deacon Paul Kang, CEO of Mount Miriam Cancer Hospital and state dignitaries.
 
Fr. Michael Cheah in his speech said that Hospital Fatimah was officially declared open by His Royal Highness The Late Sultan of Perak, DYMM Sultan Idris Shah on 7th December 1974. For 50 years Hospital Fatimah’s doctors, nurses and staff have given their dedication and commitment in providing medical services. Hospital Fatimah has maintained ISO Certification annually from 1999 to 2022 and have received continuous the Malaysian Society for Quality in Health (MSQH) Certification Awards from 2006 to 2028.
 
Dr. Liaw Kok Toon, said that the hospital currently provides around 30 medical specialties and sub-specialties, surgical services and various healthcare facilities. The hospital has 236 beds and is supported by 641 staff in various categories. The hospital has the latest medical assets and is committed to delivering high quality healthcare services.  Hospital Fatimah is also collaborating with the Ministry of Health Malaysia to provide healthcare services to the public by outsourcing programmes. The Hospital will provide magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), cardiac computed tomography (CT) scans and ultrasound services to MOH hospital patients. This will reduce patient appointment waiting times at public hospitals.
