The Pontifical Mission Societies (TPMS) are a group of Catholic missionary societies under the Pope's jurisdiction, including the Society for the Propagation of the Faith, the Society of St. Peter the Apostle, the Holy Childhood Association, and the Missionary Union of Priests and Religious. Established in 1822, the TPMS aim to promote a universal missionary spirit among all baptized Catholics, supporting missions in countries where Christianity is new, young, or poor until they become self-sufficient. These societies raise awareness, foster prayer, and cooperate within the Catholic Church, distributing resources equitably based on the needs of individual Churches. Fr. Victor Louis leads the Pontifical Mission Society in the Penang Diocese, playing a vital role in fostering prayer, cooperation, and awareness to support missions and address issues like poverty, disease, injustice, and exploitation within the Catholic community.
